When I hear the name BurntZilla, I think about a Tokyo sized lizard monster who is slowly developing melanoma. Luckily for our gargantuan reptilian friends, Burntzilla is actually a slider/mini hotdog restaurant in Irvine that specializes in comfort food.
I also took the liberty of doing this ultra realistic drawing of BurntZilla for you:
I got some weird looks at starbucks while I was drawing this.
Sliders are something that you can get a lot of restaurants, but very rarely do you get good variety of flavors from them. A lot of the time, you end up getting the same burger with a different sauce or something generic. With Burntzilla, you have an interesting variety of indulgent mini foods that fill a variety of tastes (plus tater tots).
The Sliders of Burntzilla
Sloppy Joe: Ground Beef & Cheese Sauce with mild Peppers
This was my least favorite of the Sliders I got, but it was still good. The peppers are really the star of this slider, because it adds a little flair to the rich and meaty filling
Fried Cheese: Fried Panko-crusted mozzarella cheese with basil aioli & tomato jam
The Basil aioli was really subtle but was needed to add the herbacious quality to the flavors. There was also a touch of spice in there that was a nice surprise. Plus, who doesn’t love fried cheese?
Fried Chicken: Buttermilk Fried Chicken with garlic potato spread and country gravy
My favorite & the most indulgent of the 3 sliders I tried. Between the thick coating around the chicken and garlic masted potato I found the need to sit back and rest for a second. If this slider was any bigger it could cause an immediate food coma.
At $3.00 a slider, Burntzilla is very reasonable for people with moderate appetites and a love for variety. It can get a bit pricey for people who like to eat a lot, unless you order fries or tots. If you’re looking for something more filling, their “Golden Combo” runs just under $10 & you get 2 sliders, fries, and a drink.

Where’s the cheddar?! I consider myself a variety man, and an ass man -Burntzilla has it all and is close to my work. I’ve been on the road in So-Cal so naturally SS is my toasty travel companion.
