I’ve driven past TK burgers in Mission Viejo for years and never noticed it. As someone who prides themselves on their ability to find the best food between bread in the world, It hurt me to think that I passed this place up for so long. To be fair, it’s location is kind of hidden. I happened upon it while cheating on my beloved sandwiches for some saucy and tempting empanadas nearby. Good thing I did find TK Burgers, because I’ve been on a mission to find some great burgers in South Orange County.
The first thing I noticed about the TK Burgers menu was their prices. Every item on the menu costs less than $8 and they have a cheeseburger and fries special for $6.69. For those of you who don’t feel like a burger, there are a handful of other items that are also good for a fair price (like an ahi sandwich, for $6.99).
The Tombstone Burger

The tombstone burger is a classic BBQ burger with a nice texture. TK’s burger patties are generously seasoned with their secret spice mix and are a little more firm than other burger places. I think the meat they use is a little leaner than what I’m used to, but it made the burger feel more filling. The BBQ sauce was kind of lost in everything, but the TK sauce was really nice with the crispy onion rings.
TK Burgers is a straightforward burger place with some solid menu items. There’s nothing that is overly adventurous, but you really can’t go wrong with the basics. TK brings some great quality and portions for a reasonable price and is truly worth a visit. Plus, there are 5 locations across Orange County.
